Car rental in KLIA Terminal 1

Kuala Lumpur International Airport is fifty-five kilometres south of the city, which means the drive in is the first drive of your trip. It is also an easy one: the ELITE and KLIA expressways are wide, well-signposted, lightly trafficked outside peak, and take about forty-five minutes to the centre.

We meet international arrivals at Terminal 1 with your name on a board. Bring your passport, your home licence and your international driving permit if your licence is not in English or Malay. The check takes ten minutes, the walk-around another ten, and then we point you at the exit and stay on the phone until you are on the expressway.

One practical note: after a long-haul flight, driving an unfamiliar exotic car on the left in a foreign country at night is a lot to take on at once. If you land after 10pm we will often suggest a chauffeur transfer in and a self-drive handover at your hotel the next morning. It costs a little more and it is usually the right call.
