For a visitor
Renting a Nissan as a visitor to Malaysia is a different proposition from renting one at home, and most of the difference is practical, not mechanical. You are driving on the left, on roads you have not seen, with tolls that work by stored-value card and motorcycles that filter past both sides of you at every set of lights. The car is the easy part. We spend fifteen minutes on the rest before you set off.
The Nissan cars in our fleet are drawn from the same Kuala Lumpur inventory that supplies our sister brands, prepared and photographed at our yard in Subang Jaya. What you see on this page is what is actually available — prices are live, and a car that has been retired disappears from the site instead of sitting here as a lure. Every one goes out fully insured, freshly serviced, with a full tank and a loaded Touch 'n Go card in the holder.
Which model suits you depends far more on your itinerary than on your taste. If you are staying inside Kuala Lumpur and want the car for evenings and photographs, something small and dramatic is the right call and parking is your main constraint. If you are heading for the Cameron Highlands or driving up to Penang, take the version with the boot space and the softer ride — four hours on the North–South Expressway makes a firm suspension setting feel very different from how it felt on the test drive.
A word on where Nissan makes sense on Malaysian roads specifically. The expressways are excellent and lightly policed for anything other than speed. The hill roads to Genting and the Camerons are technical, narrow in places, and reward a car you can place accurately more than one with a big power figure. City streets are slow, hot and full of unmarked speed bumps, so ground clearance is worth more than horsepower for the first two days while you find your feet.
Delivery is free to any Kuala Lumpur hotel on rentals of two days or more, and included at KLIA and KLIA2 from three days. If your driving licence is not printed in English or Malay, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it — send us a photograph of your licence before you book and we will confirm exactly what you need.
